What are you playing this weekend?

The weekend is here and we are all ready for it.

This weekend, we’re trying to level up our Light by playing a highly anticipated title and uncovering the truth behind a dark secret society. Sounds busy, right?

Here’s what we’re playing this weekend:

Destiny 2 Lightfall – PS5 and PS4 Games Launch Trailer

Connor Makar, Staff Writer – Destiny 2

This weekend I’m playing a bunch of destination 2 to prepare for the new expansion. It’s looking pretty good, but I really need to up my light level, otherwise I’ll be cleaning it out on launch day.

I’ll also probably slap some League of Legends games there too, because I’m tragically addicted to yelling at other Europeans.

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is a Soulslike that gives you a helping hand

Dom Peppiatt, Features Editor – Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Did you know there’s a new demo for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty out there now? It’s the final demo of the game before launch, and it shows off a slightly rebalanced and more up-to-date version of the game than the one you played back in 2022. Now, I’m not allowed to say too much about Wo Long at the moment – you’ll have to wait until the next week for that – but I’m thinking that if you play this demo now, you’ll get a good taste of what’s to come when the Dynasty Warriors-meets-Nioh title launches next week.

The demo will showcase everything I love about this game; the speed, the ferocity, the scenery, the magic and swordsmanship and the way it all dances together. Work up an appetite with this demo and look forward to the release of the full game – a year after Elden Ring, it’s exactly the kind of experience I’ve always wanted, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I just hope I can play as much of the limited-time demo as possible between going to get my thumb fixed. I managed to get about 1 cm off the tip of my left thumb while trying to cook pancakes this week (I know, I know).

All my chef fantasies have come home to roost in the best way, apparently. Or maybe I was just preparing myself for the whole dismemberment on Wo Long. Yeah, sure, that’s what I’m going with.

The Council – Launch Trailer

James Billcliffe, guidebook editor – The Council

Once again, the weekend is steam deck time and in the next few days I hope to enter The advicea post-revolutionary/Georgian era narrative adventure where you search for your missing mother and discover the truth about the shadowy secret society, the Golden Order.

The story seemingly features real-world figures of the era like George Washington and Napoleon, and it’s exactly the kind of stylized period bullshit I like. Sometimes (all the time) it’s hard to turn off the itch to cover every game to death, especially when it comes to guides, so my favorite games to get lost in are these slightly older, mid- and high-budget types of stories concept what i don’t feel so much pressure to write three pages next monday.

Another game that I really enjoyed on the Deck on vacation was Call of Cthulhu, that came from a different team at the same studio as The Council, but I’m still keeping my expectations low in terms of performance so as not to be disappointed.

And that’s us. What are you up to doing this weekend?
