Several new film series based on Lord of the Rings are under construction.
With the franchise in the midst of a resurgence thanks to the hit Prime Video series The Power of the Rings and next anime movie War of the RohirrimWarner Bros. Discovery made a deal with rights holders Middle-Earth Enterprises for more feature films.
This deal is actually separate from the TV side, which covers the power ringsso these new films theoretically wouldn’t connect directly to that series.
Warner Bros Pictures Group co-presidents and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy released a statement expressing hopes of once again achieving the box office success of Sir Peter Jackson. Lord of the Rings It is hobbit trilogies.

A spokesman for Jackson said Variety that Warner Bros has contacted”every step of the way”, but did not confirm his involvement.
“We look forward to speaking with them to hear their vision for the franchise moving forward,” said Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.
next animated film The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim will be an original story inspired by the works of JRR Tolkien and directed by Ghost in the Shell veteran Kenji Kamiyama.
