Neighbors actor Tim Kano has hinted that he might return as Leo Tanaka when the soap is revived later this year, teasing that we should get some concrete details about the show very soon.
During Australia’s annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras celebrations, Kano spoke to news.com and opened about Neighbors‘ future.
“I’m pretty quiet about it, but it’s really exciting,” he said of his possible return as Leo.
“There will be some announcements next week about what’s going on, the new cast and the future of the show. It’s just amazing.”

Since most of the cast didn’t even know about it Neighbors was being revived until it was announced, it seems likely that Kano will be in the revival as he is privy to the announcement information.
Speaking about the soap opera’s impact on LGBTQ+ Australians, Kano added: “It was groundbreaking and stood out on Australian television in terms of inclusivity, which is why it’s so great to be a part of in terms of diversity and sexuality.
“It’s iconic and it’s really important that it comes back.”

He’s not the only star hinting that they’ll be on the revival.
Jodi Gordon has confirmed that she is in talks, while returning cast member Ryan Moloney has stated that there may be a time jump when Neighbors is back on our screens.
It will be interesting to see if Kano’s on-screen brother, David Tanaka actor Takaya Honda, will be involved since he started to land other roles.
Everything will be revealed next week, we hope.
Neighbors returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain Australian premiere rights to the new series.
