Sony’s latest State of Play, which showcased some of the third-party games coming to console and VR, was exactly what Sony said it would be. There weren’t really any surprises, but there were good gameplay trailers. The new Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer was intriguing specifically because it hinted at the game’s deviation from the original title. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, on the other hand, felt a little underwhelming. But at least the shooting looks fun. I would be willing to try.

While I was enjoying State of Play, apparently Warner Bros revealed the existence and possible release of Mortal Kombat 12 in 2023. I assume the intention was to reveal it at a special event, like E3, rather than casually in a call to action. earnings – but what are you going to do? Anyway, the good news is that Mortal Kombat 12 is in development. I’m pleasantly surprised, as I assumed the next game in NetherRealm’s repertoire would be Injustice 3, but I much prefer this one.

Earlier this week, Tango Gameworks announced that gaming icon Shinji Mikami is leaving the company, which he founded in 2010. Where he’s headed remains to be seen – though, considering he’s been a part of gaming since the ’90s. , I wouldn’t blame him. if he retired. Tango, meanwhile, is still hot since the release of Hi-Fi Rush (Mikami was the executive producer).

Given that I don’t have a PS VR2 yet, it looks like I’ll have to stick to simple console and PC titles this week. I’m still playing a little more Octopath Traveler II and Like a Dragon: Ishin – two games that are too confusing to be mixed into the soup that is my brain. The next month should be amazing with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse on the way.
