Jordan Pickford: Everton and England goalkeeper signs new four-and-a-half-year contract at Goodison Park | football news

Jordan Pickford has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton, with the goalkeeper committing his future with the club until the end of June 2027.

The 28-year-old, due to enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer, was linked with a move to Tottenham but has agreed to remain at Goodison Park despite the Toffees being 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

Pickford, signed for £30m from Sunderland in 2017, has made 222 appearances for Everton and established himself as England’s first choice goalkeeper, having won 50 caps for his country.

pickford said evertontv: “It’s amazing to sign this new contract at a club that is so special to me. The support I’ve had from everyone at the club since I turned 22 has been very important for my family and for me. I’m happy here and my family is too, we love Everton.

“Everton are a huge club. The last few seasons haven’t been what we wanted but now we have a manager who I believe will point us in the right direction and get us up on the table. It’s definitely my aim to succeed at this club. The fans, the team and my teammates have been great to me from the moment I joined and I want to be great for them.

“I just want to keep working hard and playing for Everton. We know we’re in a difficult position in the league at the moment, but I’m looking forward to helping the team improve this season and then looking forward to success in the future, which includes playing in our new Stadium.

“This contract will take me to over 10 years at Everton and I want to build a legacy here to put myself alongside the likes of Neville Southall to be one of the best ‘goalkeepers to ever play for Everton.’
