‘I really love boxing – this is what I was put on Earth for’: Jake Paul tells Piers Morgan he would be fighting ‘regardless of the money’ ahead of Saudi showdown with Tommy Fury… as it’s confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will be in attendance Sunday night
Jake Paul has denied that money is the driving force behind his transition to boxing as he prepares for this weekend’s decisive showdown with Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia.
The bitter rivals finally clash in Diriyah on Sunday, with ringwalks beginning at around 9.30pm UK time, after seeing previously scheduled fights fall through on two occasions.
The pair clashed at a pre-fight press conference on Thursday, where Mike Tyson, Derek Chisora and Tyson Fury were in attendance.
Paul originally became a globally known personality after making a name for himself producing videos on YouTube and social media.
He also dabbled in acting and music before turning to boxing and – speaking to Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV – he revealed that he couldn’t quite figure out what he earned during his lifetime.

Appearing after Thursday’s press conference, the 26-year-old was asked how much money he had won.
The American laughed and then replied: ‘Very, very much. I don’t know.
‘It gets to the point where you earn so much that it doesn’t count anymore, so I really don’t know.’
Paul went on to describe how he enjoyed the vast sums of money he’s earned from all of his endeavors, including boxing, but fights like Fury’s were more about the passion he has for the sport.
He added: ‘For me the money is great but I really love boxing and that’s what I was put on earth for.
‘I wasn’t getting paid like I am now when I started. I would be doing this regardless of the money.’
Morgan then revealed how he was told by Cristiano Ronaldo that the former Manchester United star would be attending the clash in Saudi Arabia and that he ‘thinks it’s going to be a good fight’.

Paul insisted he didn’t care much about money but was struggling due to his love of the sport.

The host also questioned Paul about his claim of being in the dark about his finances, saying: ‘I find this hard to believe. You strike me as someone who knows exactly how much money he makes.
He replied: ‘I promise you, Piers Morgan, I have no idea. I make money in lump sums, residuals, investments, stocks, exits from companies, so equity is always going up and down, moving with the markets and stuff.
‘I mean it when I say that you stop paying attention at some point.’
