Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is coming to an end very soon, but there’s still a lot of new content here in the final season update. In addition to that sick new Adonis Creed outfit from Creed III dropping in the item shop this week, this update is bringing the return of the extremely retro Six shooting guns and infantry rifle and a new mission type that will require a little more intelligence than usual.
Most of these new Cipher Quests will come in their standard quest form: it tells you what your objective is. These are unencrypted Encrypted Missions. But you will also find a quest that is encrypted, and you’ll have to use your wits to figure out what you’re really supposed to do. You need to complete each cryptic mission before starting a new one, and new cryptic missions will be unlocked every day until March 7th. You’ll have until the end of the season to complete them, but that’s not a lot of time – just a week and a change.
In addition to all the XP you’ll earn from these quests for completing your battle pass, if needed, there will be quest rewards involved here as well. There’s nothing as hefty as the free mini battle pass we just received for the Most Wanted event, but it’s still the kind of thing Fortnite collectors will want to pick up.
For seven unencrypted missions you’ll get the Keep The Peace spray, with 15 unencrypted missions you’ll get the Order Up loading screen, and with 24 unencrypted missions you’ll get the Deciphered emoticon. If you complete three of the intriguing Encrypted missions, you’ll also earn the Circuitry wrap, and for completing the last Cipher mission you’ll receive the Distant Roar spray.
We have two more non-vaulted weapons with this update: the Infantry Rifle and the Six Marksman. The Infantry Rifle is a semi-automatic assault rifle without a scope – basically a DMR without a scope. The Six Shooter is a pistol with unique properties – it fires very quickly from the hip for close encounters and fires much slower and more accurately when you ADS for mid-range situations.
And lastly, in a piece of news that Epic buried at the end of the blog about this patch: the Rift-Jector Seat upgrade (which launches you into the sky when your shield breaks) is once again active, ensuring that the final week of the chapter 4, the first season will be as chaotic as it gets.
