Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 Start Date, Battle Pass, and more

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is just days away now, with all the in-game signposts telling us that Season 1 will end on March 8th. And as is usually the case, Epic is keeping its cards close to its vest for the time being, has made any sort of revelations about Season 2 yet. That said, we do have some clues, big and small, as to what the future holds.

When does Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 start?

The in-game phrase says that this season will end on March 8th, meaning the actual last day will be March 9th – the stated end date for a season is usually the last one. complete day for each region, with any potential end-of-season live events and server downtime taking place the following day, and the start of the new season one day later what.

So, if Epic follows normal procedure, Fortnite will go offline for the Season 2 update on March 9th, and then Chapter 4 Season 2 will start on the morning of March 10th.

This date was basically confirmed in the 23.50 update on the Cipher quests page in your quests tab. A note on that page says “A signal was detected with a looping encrypted message that says 0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3. What could that mean?” It means 3/10/2023, the likely release date of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

What do we know about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

This week’s most obvious clues come from the fourth set of Oathbound story quests. During these missions, Rift Ward Stellan talks about how the Ageless Champion decided to build the Rift Gate near the Citadel at the behest of a “Shapeless Man” who was responsible for the chromium invasion that destroyed the last Fortnite island. Stellan is super worried about this Shapeless Man, who he describes as chasing some kind of “perfect order” – it’s almost certainly Geno, founder of the Imagined Order, who fell into Point Zero in Chapter 3 and has clearly evolved quite a bit. significantly. What’s more, the description of this Man Without Form also fits that of Nothingness, who was responsible for the chromium invasion that destroyed the island’s last battle royale. My best guess: they must be the same person.

This is a huge development for the overarching Fortnite storyline. Since we defeated IO in Chapter 3, Season 2, the island’s long-term factions have been out of the picture, except for the story missions involving The Scientist in Chapter 3, Season 3, and a couple of scenes featuring The Paradigm in Chapter 3 , Season 4 Dialogue from the Bytes missions last season indicated that The Nothing has some tie to The Last Reality, but given that they and IO were at war with each other in Chapter 2, it would be hard to believe he’s allied with both. But that would make a really nice twist, right?

While there’s still another batch of Oathbound missions to come before the end of the season, as it stands now, this Rift Gate is open and active, and we haven’t been able to shut it down because some unknown party is now controlling it and keeping it open.

In addition to IO and Last Reality, we have other ancient factions seemingly at play in Chapter 4, Season 2: the Fox Clan and the Peace Syndicate. Fox Clan members have been in Fortnite forever – Drift, one of the most popular Fortnite skins of all time, was added to the Chapter 1 Season 5 Battle Pass. And the popular Vi crew skin also belonged to the Fox clan.

Fox Clan could return to the storyline in a major way soon.

But the Fox Clan, whose members are specifically known to have powers and abilities that control Rifts (“Drift” is a pun), weren’t referenced as a group until Chapter 2 of Season 5, when an unknown enemy nearly wiped them out before the Drift. , Vi, Catalyst and others brought the group back. The ghostly Kondor, hired by the IO, was thought to be that foe, but the Fox Clan story stalled and ended up going nowhere – Epic could retell its story as it pleased.

The Peace Syndicate is a newer group, first teased in Chapter 3, Season 2 during the war against IO and then the central focus of Season 3, also known as the Vibin’ season. Evie from Season 3 Battle Pass has been our face of the group – Twyn from Season 4 Chapter 3 Battle Pass is also a member of the Peace Syndicate, as is Meowscles.

We still don’t know what the Fox Clan or the Peace Syndicate has to do with all of this, or even whether they’re good or bad in this situation – the Peace Syndicate in particular had sinister overtones from the start. But both groups are referenced in Oathbound quests, both groups are mentioned repeatedly in new text strings that were included in the 23.50 update, and the Fox Clan is the subject of one of those Rift events that are constantly teleporting across the island.

What skins will be in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 battle pass?

Update 23.50 also added the new Cipher missions, and one of the rewards for those missions revealed what will likely be a Battle Pass skin. The reward in question is a spray called A Distant Roar, which is awarded for completing a series of Cipher missions. This spray shows a cool lizardman wearing a Thriller jacket – a character we’ve previously seen in a Fortnite clothing search.

If Epic is teasing him in-game like this, you can expect to see him in his locker in the near future.

The Man With No Form himself is a possible battle pass skin that people have really been waiting for this current season – this is likely the same character who was referred to as The Nothing last season – and so he’s a possibility too. This skin pictured below is thought to be the Man Without Form whenever he actually comes to the fore.

One more rumor we have is about the theme of the season. This season featured a medieval European theme, and popular Fortnite data miners have been unearthing hints that the next season will continue the historical theme, but this time with an East Asian inspiration, such as references to a new code-named location ” Dojo” and a new “bamboo” area. The Fox Clan’s involvement is also one such hint, as they all wear Japanese Kitsune masks.

For now, that’s what we know. But we’re so close to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 now that we should be seeing new hints and teases very soon.
