Everything at Sony’s big PlayStation event, from PS5 to VR

It’s been a minute since Sony latest State of Play showcaseand PlayStation fans are looking forward to new updates and big reveals about the future of PlayStation 5. What they got today wasn’t that. resident Evil 4, street fighter 6and more well-known quantities received new trailers, while an extended gameplay demo for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showed that it can actually be more of a live service game than a Batman Arkham successor. Here’s everything that was shown in thursday live stream.

with shades of weird west It is disgraced, the fogs it looks like it could be a great VR experience if it’s more than just another shooter you have to put a headset on for. A trailer for the sci-fi roguelike western has shown countless ways to kill enemies, whether you prefer a Colt .44 or just throwing a wrench at them. Throwing right hooks is also encouraged. The game will be on Oculus Quest 2 as well as PS VR2 later this year.


Green Hell VR

Ever feel like VR is missing something? Like, say, the ability to hit trees with rocks? Green Hell you have it covered. Take on tigers and dense foliage in an older VR game when it’s ported to PS VR2 later this year.


Synapse

Another accurate shot. Synapse looks to be a dark VR action game in which you take out faceless henchmen in a world of black and gray. A colored prism seems to be behind the violence. It reminds me of super hot. It doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but you could start dual-wielding before the end of 2023.


Journey to the Foundation

Glad to see that Isaac Asimov’s amazing science fiction series continues to be adapted. You are a spy tasked with investigating civil unrest on the fringes of the Galactic Empire as it begins to crumble. I hope fiction is more than just background. It’s planned to come to PS VR2 this fall.


Before Your Eyes

One of the standout indie games of 2021, Before Your Eyes it’s also getting the PS VR2 treatment. You play as a recently deceased character, reliving their memories on their way to the afterlife. Every time you blink in real life – the PS VR2 hardware can tell – the scene changes. It comes to the PlayStation headset on March 10th.


Destiny 2: Lightfall

The latest major expansion for Bungie’s loot shooter arrives next week. A new trailer has shown what will likely be the main parts of lightfallopening cinematics, including The Traveler using his power to blow up some aliens. Fans have waited nearly a decade for this moment.

Tchia is an open-world sandbox adventure inspired by the developers’ homeland of New Caledonia. It also appears to be one of the first indie games to ever hit the PS Plus Extra tier of Sony’s revamped Game Pass competitor. The game comes out on March 21st.

PS Plus March Games

Sony took a break from the trailers to show what’s coming next month for PS Plus. The base layer of the subscription service is getting Battlefield 2042, minecraft dungeonsIt is Vein Codewhile the Extra level gets Ghostwire Tokyo, Uncharted Collection: Legacy of Thieves, Fenyx Rising ImmortalsIt is Rainbow Six Extraction.


Humanity

infinite rez It is Tetris Effect: Connected Manufacturer Enhanced has revealed its next game, Humanity, will come to PS5 in addition to PS4. The action puzzler lets you control a dog herding huge anonymous crowds in surreal environments. It will support PS VR and PS VR2, with a demo available now. The full game arrives in May.


Goodbye High Volcano

The rhythmic visual novel Goodbye Volcano High continues to look very sharp. The indie game that challenges a 4chan troll campaign comes to PS4 and PS5 in June. The developers revealed that the voice talents of Ozioma Akagha, Abe Bueno-Jallad, Allegra Clark, and Mark Whitten will join the previously revealed cast.


Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections

The next game in Ultimate Ninja Storm The fighting game series will feature its biggest slate yet and will hit PS4 and PS5 in 2023. It marks the 20th anniversary of the naruto anime and will support 60fps on PS5. Ashura Otsuki and Indra Otsuki will join the previous game’s 124 playable characters, with more to be announced at a later date.


Baldur III’s Gate

The night is dark and full of mind flayers, and yes they are coming to comfort. Baldur III’s GateLarian Studio’s intricately detailed RPG that feels like it’s been in Early Access forever is coming to PS5 on August 31st. That’s great news for anyone who didn’t want to upgrade their PC to play the spiritual successor to two fantastic games. games (Baldur’s Gate 2 It is Divinity: Original Sin 2).


Wayfinder

Revealed at the 2022 Game Awards, Wayfinders is an online action RPG from Airship Syndicate, the studio behind darksiders genesis It is League of Legends spin off Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. That last one was excellent and gives me hope Wayfinder it won’t be the next multiplayer game on live service funeral pyre. Early Access Season 1 starts in May on PS4 and PS5.

Big Zangief. A new trailer for Capcom’s upcoming fighting game showed the Russian fighter in breathtaking action, as well as Lily, a brand new character for street fighter 6. She hails from Mexico and is full of gritty talent. The trailer ended with a look at Cammy getting angry that she had to wear a denim jacket with a giant Union Jack on it. The game will be released on June 2nd.


resident Evil 4

“How about you open fire instead of your mouth?” Leon is back and full of jokes. resident Evil 4 (the remake) drops March 24, with a demo coming to PS5 in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can enjoy the above look at knife fights and mine cart rides.


Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

We finally got a close-up look at Rocksteady’s next game, complete with chaotic four-player co-op and a quest that revolved around shooting giant purple pustules. With Harley Quinn and company. bouncing off buildings in a giant sandbox, it looked like a cross between Repression 3 It is Hymn. Hopefully the final game will be more promising when it arrives on May 26th. The scenes looked good, at least.

That is all. We’re officially entering the biggest years of the PS5’s lifecycle and Sony is still keeping its cards pretty close to the vest. If previous generations of hardware are any indication, spiderman 2 it’s not the only big game lurking in the latter half of 2023. A PS5 update could also be in the mix. Whatever the company’s big reveals are, it will likely keep them in the next e3 season. While Sony stopped showing up years ago, it still tends to be when its annual big showcase goes live.
