call the midwife Star Helen George has revealed an unfortunate fantasy “drama” that occurred while filming wedding scenes.
Tonight (February 26th) long awaited season 12 finaleGeorge’s character, Trixie Franklin, will finally marry her fiance Matthew, played by Olly Rix, after three years of romance.
Speaking with radio schedulesGeorge said that while filming Trixie’s big day, a cast member stumbled upon an unfortunate wardrobe mishap, ruining a wedding fantasy.

Recalling a particular moment when the cast were given pizza to eat, George said that actress Megan Cusack, who plays Nancy Corrigan, spilled pizza grease on her bridesmaid costume.
“Something went wrong on the day of the shoot too. We got pizzas because everyone was starving,” said George. “And poor Megan got grease all over her bridesmaid dress. It was a drama.”
Although the greasy bridesmaid dress drama was the worst thing they encountered, George said filming the special episode was “a long day”.

“We went over our schedule in about an hour and a half. But it was also a beautiful day. There was a real sense of occasion. And it was lovely that the whole cast was together.”
When asked if she can relate to Trixie’s meticulousness around the big day, George said she thinks most people who plan a wedding can.
“I think it’s natural for any woman to want to do everything right – it’s an important day in anyone’s life.”
previously teasing what’s to come for the couple’s nuptials, George, who has played Nurse Trixie on the BBC drama series since 2012, said: “I mean, it’s never completely smooth sailing. There’s always got to be a bit of danger.”
